Center for Creative and Collaborative Leadership
One cannot settle in the World without assuming the responsibility to create it.
– Mircea Eliade
The Center for Creative and Collaborative Leadership has been established to foster research and education which cultivate leadership appropriate to the social and psychological challenges of contemporary culture. The Center reimagines leadership as the deepening of participation, the inspiring of political imagination, and the facilitation of creative conflict. Leaders skilled in the art of conflict facilitate the recognition and engagement of differences necessary for creative collaboration and cultural change. Collaborative leadership within a cultural context is constituted by principled actions that create new and unexpected meanings. The role of dialogue and conversation is critical in this collaborative construction of emancipatory meanings.
The Center's associates recognize that, both locally and globally, the time is ripe for actualizing a collaborative vision of leadership. The principles and practices of collaborative leadership may be applied to personal, cultural, business, political, as well as clinical and educational contexts. The Center seeks to promote activities that would include symposia, workshops, consulting, and training as well as research projects and publications.
