Why is it that just now especially we interest ourselves in psychology? The answer is, everyone is in dire need of it…we live in a time when there dawns upon us a realization that the people living on the other side of the mountain are not made up exclusively of red-headed devils responsible for all of the evil on this side of the mountain.”
- C.G. Jung

Upcoming Symposium

Date To Be Announced
The Matrix of Empathy: A Symposium on Restoring the Cultural Commons

Joined Hands

Join us for a day-long Symposium on September 11, 2010 that undertakes an inquiry into the vital, life-sustaining necessity of empathy. Together we will explore the culture of shamelessness and its devaluing of empathetic connection which has contributed to increased individualism, the bystander phenomenon, and an absence of belonging. We will also explore ways in which the threads of empathy might be repaired and re-woven and, as a result, how community might be re-imagined. More information to come.
