Foundations of Narrative Health Coaching

Workshop Description

Narrative Health Coaching offers an integrated approach to clarifying and attaining desired client outcomes. Introducing the skills and mindset necessary for engaging both the coach’s and the client’s full potential for growth and healing, this 12-hour class embraces the key principles of Narrative Health Coaching: Stories Matter, Relationships Engage, Learning Transforms and Growth Heals.

Incorporating awareness of “story,” Narrative Health Coaching engages the whole person – body, mind, heart, soul and spirit – by increasing awareness, motivating change and encouraging healing. Foundations in Narrative Health Coaching initiates these ongoing processes:

In this workshop you will:

  • Enhancing your healing presence through self-awareness
  • Establishing and nurturing trust and intimacy through presence and active listening
  • Developing and carrying out a coaching plan that identifies a healing topic tailored for the client
  • Sitting more comfortably with your client’s healing narrative by engaging your own
  • Recognizing and working the challenges and impact of resistance

    Joel Kreisberg

    Joel is the founder and Executive Director of the Teleosis Institute, www.teleosis.org, a not-for-profit institution devoted to Coaching and Narrative Healing. After becoming an Integral Master Coach™, Joel integrated this coaching style into his clinical practice in homeopathy and nutritional medicine. Narrative health coaching offers a comprehensive framework that identifies and nourishes the healing capacity of those seeking to reduce pain and illness as well as those seeking to increase overall health and vitality. Joel maintains a private practice, Integrative Homeopathic Medicine, is in Berkeley, CA. He co-authored Coaching and Healing: Transforming the Illness Narrative.
