Meridian University is licensed to operate by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. California State Approving Agency for Veterans Education

Meridian University is approved by the California State Approving Agency for Veterans Education (CSAAVE) for the training of veterans and other eligible persons. Veterans education benefits are administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Professional Licensure

Board of Behavioral Sciences

The Board of Behavioral Sciences in the State of California accepts Meridian University's Master in Counseling Psychology (MA) degree, Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology (PhD) degree, and Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) degree, as meeting the educational requirements for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California. Persons interested in licensure are advised to contact the Board of Behavioral Sciences in Sacramento, California to obtain a complete listing of all requirements for licensure.

Board of Psychology

The Board of Psychology of the State of California accepts Meridian University's Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology (PhD) and Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) degree as meeting the educational requirements for licensure as a psychologist in California. Individuals interested in licensure outside the state of California are advised to contact their state's Board of Psychology to determine their own state's requirements for licensure.

National Register of Recognized Foreign Higher Education Institutions

Meridian University is officially listed in Greece’s National Register of Recognized Foreign Higher Education Institutions. Graduates may submit their master’s and doctoral degrees to the relevant Greek authorities for official recognition, subject to the applicable procedures and requirements.

Meridian University is a recognized CHEA member institution. CHEA is comprised of an association of 3,000 degree-granting colleges and universities and serves as a national voice for voluntary accreditation and quality assurance to the U.S. Congress and U.S. Department of Education.

Continuing Education

California Psychological Association

Meridian University is approved by the California Psychological Association Office of Professional Development (#MER020) to sponsor continuing professional education for psychologists in California. Meridian University maintains responsibility for continuing education programs and their content.

Board of Behavioral Sciences

Meridian University is approved by the California Psychological Association (CPA) to provide continuing professional education for psychologists (#MER020). The California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) now recognizes CPA continuing education credit for license renewal for LCSWs and MFTs. Meridian University maintains responsibility for continuing education programs and their content.
